Going through My Archives...

I noticed I took a lot of pictures of this clean, low Chevy 3100 Shortbed. I shoot a lot of shows and I do remember this is in Culpeper about two years ago on the 4th of July. If you are looking for a a good activity on the 4th besides fireworks, visit Culpeper's annual car show on main street. You wont be disappointed and there is nothing more American than celebrating and admiring our automotive history on display.

I'm Not a Chevy Guy

But how can you resist such a bad ass, steel cold, flat blue truck like this with smooth but sharp lines and attitude that's just enough but not over the top. I think the color and the wheels first stood out to me. The wheels on this rig match the simple, clean yet sharp look to the truck and the gloss black with subtle chrome centers give it just the right amount of style. Props to the owner (Sorry I didn't get your name) and Bad Donkey Hot Rods for such a fine specimen.

Whitewalls and Chrome

Keep it simple stupid. Without overdoing the custom elements, this truck retains it stock looks while also carrying a gangster profile that transforms this from its common, everyday truck from the 50's to something special...unique. This 3100 is proof that you dont have to get all crazy with paint, customizations, wheels etc to still look cool. I love how most everything appears stock from bumpers and trim to the wheels themselves, the paint, stance, rake and other elements make it a Hot Rod.

Under the Hood and Inside

The clean and simple theme carries through, linking the exterior to it's soul. What is the point of having an old or classic car or truck if it no longer looks like one? There is an ass for every seat in the automotive industry and I love observing and taking in all of it. But respecting and retaining this truck's history while modernizing it to be a head turning street machine is the right way to do this, in my opinion.

Car Culture = Freedom

The 4th of July is coming up and I wish the Culpeper Auto Show would resume this year. It is time to get back to celebrating our freedoms and liberties that have always been ours to begin with. The Car Culture reflects our freedom of expression and represents our individual freedom's and liberties that we should always appreciate and respect. Hit me up if you would like to relive more of the hot rods and special rides from past Culpepper Car Shows.
